Spark of Life Grief Coaches will listen and connect with you and the grief you are experiencing. Coaches will not set time frames for you. They will guide you through the process of grief, encouraging you and equipping you to have hope and a plan to live forward with purpose.
Grief coaching is done via the phone, Skype, or Facetime, whatever is comfortable for YOU.
YOU set the schedule that is convenient to you. Our Grief coaches are available at various hours of the day so that we can help people from all over the world.You can pick the coach, or we will assign you one – whatever you need. Some might be more available to fit your schedule than others.
You can purchase any number of coaching sessions – from one to as many as you need. Individual sessions are $125, with a 20% special introductory discount until now and the end of the year – which will be $100 per session. Sessions are for 45 minutes
MEET OUR COACHES
Each Spark of Life Certified Grief Coach has experienced devastating loss, and have experienced the Spark of Life Retreat and has had at least 100 hours of practical training, working with those grieving. Grief Coaching is not counseling or therapy.
Russell (Rusty) Meadows, LPC, LADAC, has worked in the behavioral health field for over twenty years and is currently a Regional Administrator for Quapaw House, Inc., Recovery and Wellness Centers. A John Maxwell Certified Life Coach, Rusty’s work and desire is to help clients achieve the positive life changes that they are seeking. He has been a co-facilitator for nearly half of the Spark of Life Retreats since 2010.
Nancy Meadows has worked alongside Rusty in the Spark of Life retreats and has spent much of her life nurturing and being mother and grandmother to their three children and five grandchildren. She excels in the gifts of hospitality and service. Her warmth, understanding and being a good listener make her an excellent choice for grief coaching. The Meadows’ life experiences with loss and grief (they lost their 34-year old son, Justin, in 2015) as well as the hundreds they have encountered through the retreats have well prepared them to assist you on your journey.
Dennis and Terri Rine joined the efforts of Spark of Life after having attended a retreat following the murder of their daughter. They are certified Grief Recovery Specialists and have facilitated nearly 40 retreats. Dennis has been a teacher, guidance counselor and coach at Harding Academy for all of his professional career. Terri teaches at two different universities.
Steven and Cindi Blackwood began a mission to save lives after the tragic loss of their 19-year old son, Alex, to undiagnosed depression, which led to suicide in 2008. They have been interviewed on Anderson Cooper 360, Good Morning America, and CNN.
Steve Blackwood is a certified trainer for LivingWorks education, which has been a leading provider in suicide prevention training for over 30 years. He has conducted numerous workshops, group trainings, and one-on-ones for suicide prevention and for grief recovery in schools, colleges, and universities.
Cindi and Steve are Certified Grief Recovery Specialists trained by the Grief Recovery Institute, and attended a Spark of Life Retreat in 2017, which “changed our life. ” They recognize the vital role that grief recovery has in suicide prevention.
Paula Brady and her husband Anthony attended the very first Spark of Life Grief Recovery Retreat in 2009, after the death of their son Andrew. They have been deeply involved with Spark of Life ever since. “We have seen how effective Spark of Life has been in helping people ‘live forward’, and are very committed to helping those who have experienced devastating loss.”
Mark and Jill Brazle have had several years of coaching and pastoral counseling experience since the shared loss of their grandson Josiah with David and Deb Mathews. They’ve helped with Spark of Life since the early days and served with Marriage Encounter. After spending 16 years church planting in Belgium, they worked in full time ministry for 25 years in Ohio and Texas. Jill and Mark are both Grip-Birkman coaches and Mark is a certified Birkman professional. Mark is a missionary care provider for Missions Resource Network and Jill is a retired high school math teacher.
Tom Stockdale has been a funeral director for over 30 years. He has facilitated grief groups and Spark of Life retreats. He has a passion to help those that are grieving from loss.
Jan Stockdale has worked for over 11 years with grief recovery groups and has help facilitate Spark of Life retreats. She teaches classes on grief and loss called Interrupted Expectations.
Scott and Cari Zorno became involved in Spark of Life in 2016 after experiencing the deaths of three of their children. They have facilitated GriefShare support groups and Spark of Life retreats. Cari is an advanced grief coach, Face 2 Face minister, and author of Tattooed by Grief: A Faith Based Approach to Helping Those Impacted by Loss.
